HOC Chapter Future

Hello everyone,

I am writing this today to inform everyone that this current leadership team has come to a crossroads in being able to sustain this chapter on a continual basis. As we've discussed in previous meetings earlier this year, we have been asking for people interested in taking over the leadership roles for this chapter to continue it's success for the Midlands region of SC. Unfortunately, we've receive little to no interest from anyone in doing this. We have reached out to Corporate for guidance on this issue and have received a couple of options. Per Corporate guidance, the following options were presented to us if and when there is no viable interest in continuing the local chapter: 

1. The Heart of the Carolina Chapter could go on extended pause.  What this means is the chapter can no longer hold meetings, bank accounts will need to be closed and all monies would be "held" at the home office for 1 year.  At that time, if there is no interest to reenergize the chapter, the chapter would be disbanded.
2. The Heart of the Carolina Chapter could opt for disbandment now.  Corporate would send out a letter to all chapter members informing them of the disbandment and giving someone/someone's the opportunity to step up and lead the chapter.  If we choose to disband, Corporate will provide us with a detailed process for disbandment including closing accounts, disbursement of funds to nationals and all the things we would need to do.

Now. With all this being said, we want everyone to understand that the above options are the last things that this team wants to do. We are currently attempting to secure a speaker for a September meeting so that we can discuss this in person and hear from people. In the meantime, if you are reading this and are interested in one of the roles, please let us know. These last couple of years have been extraordinary to say the least in being able to keep things going through a global pandemic, however, it is time for some fresh faces at the top. There will obviously be more to come on this, but this team has made the decision on this moving forward and our hope is we will hear from some people so this chapter can stay successful. Looking forward to meeting with you all in September.
